As a Special Operating Agency of the Department of National Defence (DND), the Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) is responsible for managing DND family housing, including the provision of maintenance and minor improvement services.

Defence Construction Canada (DCC), on behalf of the CFHA is calling for the submission of tenders for maintenance and minor improvement services on married military quarters in CFB Suffield, Alberta. The following services are included in this package of work: Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. The SOs will be in place from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013, with an option to extend for one (1) additional one (1) year periods, or as indicated in the contract documents. Bidders are advise that work under the this project is for 45% only.

Mrs. Gudrun "Goodie" Mauch of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Bernard "Bert" Mauch, passed away on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13th, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Goodie leaves to cherish her memory her children, Garry (Tracy) Mauch and Valerie (Ray) Baptie, both of Medicine Hat; seven grandchildren, Bryce (Tracy) Mauch, Kim Zeigler (Dave), Stacy (Paul) Beaupit, Kari Mauch (Barry), Grayson (Michelle) Mauch, Jarrod (Rena) Tuckey, and Kari Begg; seventeen great- grandchildren; one brother, Olaf Mikkelsen; one sister, Ann (Elmer) Mauch; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Bert, Goodie was predeceased by one son, Boyd Mauch. Goodie was an outstanding, proud, and cultured lady. She was dignified and often characterized as a mother's mother whose number one focus in life was her children. Goodie was a very devoted wife and sister and was the best mother and friend any child could ask for. She excelled as a mother and her passing on the special day chosen for mothers is very fitting. Goodie will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Bertram; Jean, beloved wife of the late Dave Bertram, of Maple Creek and formerly of Piapot, Saskatchewan, passed away May 9, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Family and friends joined the Bow Island community this past Saturday in saying farewell to a much beloved lady, Barbara Coté-Parisien. Just prior to the Mass at St. Michael's commencing, family shared some heart-felt words of tribute with those present. Father Philip led the congregation through this Mass of Resurrection which contained numerous beautiful selections as led by the St. Michael's Parish Choir. Following Mass, the community support was evident as numerous volunteers came together at the Golden Age Club to ensure a wonderful luncheon would be shared by all!

Following Reverend Scheske's words of committal, everyone paused in a moment of reflection while listening to a recording of Go Rest High On That Mountain. A time of fellowship followed, providing an opportunity for everyone to share some of their many good memories of Don.

Sara Lydia Frances Kroft passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the age of 68 years, beloved wife of Mulvey Kroft of 48 years. Joan Annette MacPhail of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the age of 80 years, beloved wife of the late Archie MacPhail.She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Colleen (Herb) Adair, Carol (Allan, deceased) Voth, Deborah (Wayne) Holden, Keith (Kathy) MacPhail, Janet (Rick) Porter, Calvin (Susan) MacPhail and Ken (Brenda Lea) MacPhail; her grandchildren, Troy, Ryan (Susan),Krista (Paul), Michael (Hui), Jennifer (Matt), Yvonne (Jason), Jason (Karilyn), Tracey (Shaun), Karly, Kyle and Kassidy, Kalan, Kelsey and MacKenzie;Ivan, Lara, Venture, and Dylan; Lauren (deceased), Shelby and Mitchell; along with eight great grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Anton; one sister, Blanche (Dan) Hudec; a sister-in-law, Patricia Anton as well as several nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and John Anton; her husband Archie on June 2, 2010; one brother Ken Anton and one sister in infancy.Joan was born on July 19, 1931 and raised in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Archie.They were married for 59 wonderful years! She was adevoted wife and mother of seven children, grandmother of twenty grandchildren and great grandmother of eight. Joan was a superb cook, preparingdelicious meals seemingly from nothing for her large extended family, local parish priests and many friends.She loved gardening and preserving all types of fruits and vegetables, but was probably most renowned for her incredible baking. Countless friends, neighbors and relatives were regular recipients of Joan's mouthwatering treats. Outside of the house,Joanenjoyed her many years working at the Medicine Hat Co-op where she made numerous lasting friendships. Joan was also an avid bridge player and always looked forward to her weekly outings with the bridge ladies. She played her last game of bridge two days before her passing. Joan's two biggest heroes were her long time surgeon and friend, Dr. A. McCelland and her family doctor, Dr. T.Mohanraj. Joan was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 50 and together they treated her for cancer related illnesses over 30 years. Joanhad tremendous pride in her children and grandchildren.They in turn, respected, admired and loved her dearly.She will be profoundly missed.
