In our current world of easy "wireless" telephone communication where iPhone, BlackBerry and at the very least ordinary cellphones dominate, it is difficult to imagine Medicine Hat more than 100 years ago when telephone contact relied on "barbed-wire."

At this time of year it is hard to miss the daily flocks of Canada geese silhouetted against our skies, the dark ribbon of birds resembling the fragility of a cassette tape that has unraveled, aloft, glistening and drifting in the wind.

The students at Elm Street School have been keeping busy with Empathy projects over the last few months and on Friday the kids got a chance to show off their hard work. The students have been taught to recognize feelings such as frustration and confusion through various class curriculum projects.
