Q and A with Dr. David Swann Print E-mail

News: Where are you from?

Dr. David Swann: Born in Taber, the first six months of my life was there but virtually all my life has been here [in Calgary]. Edmonton for my medical training, Africa for three years after that working in mission hospitals. Back here to Pincher Creek where I started my family. I left Pincher Creek in 1984 to come to [Calgary] to specialize in public health. I worked in the city as medical officer for a couple of years and then went to the Philippines for a couple of years to work on a health care project. Then back to work as a medical officer for southern Alberta including the Palliser Health Region and the Headwaters Health Region.

Esme Crowthers has become very familiar with the Veiner Centre since she first began visiting the location over 20 years ago. Initially joining to learn line dancing, Crowthers is now an established volunteer at the centre, and has become involved with many more local activities besides the country dance.
