There may be some ominous job losses elsewhere in the country, but Alberta and in particular, the Medicine Hat/Lethbridge Region, continued to hum along with the lowest unemployment rates in the country in November.

Local political pundits weren’t overly surprised by Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean’s decision to prorogue Parliament on Thursday, but at least a couple were concerned about what precedent it might set.

Admitting that it’s been a “pretty exasperating” couple of days, Medicine Hat MP LaVar Payne received an early Christmas gift from Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean Thursday, when she agreed to Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s request to prorogue Parliament.
