I never thought I would find myself rock-fisting and head-banging at the Esplanade, but thanks to Pat Benatar — I can proudly say that now I have.

The pint-sized powerhouse along with her husband Neil "Spyder" Giraldo and the band severely rocked the venue last night.

They started off the show with a few chords from a waling guitar and broke into a stellar version of All Fired Up.

And the hits just kept coming, as Pat and the band weaved through an opening set list that included Shadows of the Night and Invincible. After the first few fist-pumpers, the couple sat down and got acquainted with the audience, telling the story of how they met 29-years-ago.

"I met Patricia in New York … we flew to L.A. and in 19 days, we had recorded a record, In the Heat of the Night," said Giraldo.

And trust me, the intensity of the coupling is still felt, all these years later, as the combination of Giraldo's virtuoso guitar-playing and Benatar's howling vocals is unbeatable in the eyes of rock'n'roll.

The band took it down a notch with songs like Hell is for Children, Love is a Battlefield and Promises in the Dark. And they rightly tore up the house with the biggest hits, Hit Me With Your Best Shot and We Belong.

Some raucous fans pressed records to the stage and others danced, clapped and screamed — it was absolutely awesome.

And they ended it all with a soul-shaking version of Heartbreaker a capper for a great night of entertainment.

For everyone at the Esplanade, it can be put down in the books as a night to remember.
