ALLENBACK

It is with great sadness that the family of Jacqueline Emma Allenback announces her passing on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Christine Morrison Hospice, in Mission BC, at the age of 84 years. Jackie was predeceased by her parents Emile and Anna and her loving husband of 60 years, Roy. They married in Belgium during world war II. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Lucien, (Lucy) and nieces Carol, Ann and Cherry of England and sadly missed by her children Sabrina (Harold), Robert (Lorraine), Penny (Iain), and April; grandchildren Carol (Moe), Steven, Kerri, Krista, John (Alexandra), David (Jennifer), Jenna (Mark), Michael and great grandsons Alexander, Chevy and Sean. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jackie’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice, or to the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission, BC, whose staff we wish to thank for their excellent care of our mom. LLOYD DAVID HAMILTON
SEPTEMBER 20,1939-AUGUST 12, 2008


Lloyd David Hamilton, born on September 20, 1939, at University Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, beloved friend, companion and husband of Elizabeth Marie (Fedun) Hamilton, passed away suddenly on August 12th, 2008 in his home in Burstall, Saskatchewan. He will be missed by his daughters, Faith Hamilton-Thorne of Qualicum Beach, B.C. and Laure Hamilton Gandhi of Hamilton, Ontario, his brothers, Thomas, Nick, Brian and Bruce Hamilton, of Edmonton, Alberta, and his many friends.

He was a great bear of a man, with a big heart and strong convictions which he lived by sincerely. His memory will live in our hearts for ever. Funeral to be held at Hope Church, 443 Martin Street, Burstall Saskatchewan on Monday, August 18th, 2008 at 11:00am.

Mr. Jerry Storozuk of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, August 14th, 2008 at the age of 57 years. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday, August 20th, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Loren Hosfield officiating. WEISS
Magdalene "Lena" Weiss of Edmonton, formerly of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn, her two sons, Lawrence (Jacqueline) of Edmonton, Eric (Anne) of Edmonton, her daughter Maxine (Reverend John) Farden of Aberdeen, South Dakota; two grandsons, five granddaughters, ten great-grandchildren, two brothers Michael Nitz of Medicine Hat, Ted Nitz of Oromacto, New Brunswick, two sisters, Eva Ulmer of Medicine Hat and Ida Sept of Medicine Hat. Lena was predeceased by her father in March 1943 and her mother in January 1978 and her husband on November 14, 1996. She was also predeceased by sisters Mary Anderson, Katherine Reule and Olga Chaykowski. Magdalene Weiss (née Nitz) was born in the Many Island Lake district of Alberta on March 18, 1919 the daughter of Michael and Katharina Nitz (née Bauder). In 1937 Lena moved to Medicine Hat to work. In April 1938 she was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medicine Hat. On December 12, 1940 she was united in marriage to Jacob (Jack) Weiss at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and moved to the farm in the Roseberg district of Alberta. In 1948 she moved with her family back to Medicine Hat. The marriage was blessed with two sons and one daughter. Lena worked at home as a full-time wife, mother and homemaker until the children were grown. She then worked outside the home as a waitress and cook’s helper at the hospital. After the children were grown and away Lena helped Jacob remodel and renovate four houses while they were living in them. Shortly after Jack’s death she lost sight in her right eye when an infection set in after a cornea transplant. Lena had decided to move to Edmonton to be where her sons could look after her affairs but she did not want to move until after the new St. Paul church was built. Shortly after moving to Edmonton Lena began exhibiting signs of dementia. In March of 2004 Lena moved into the dementia unit of the Good Samaritan Society Southgate Care Center where she remained until her death on Friday August 15, 2008. Lena was a member of the St. Paul’s Ladies Aid from June 1946 until she moved to Edmonton in November 1998. Her confirmation verse is from Revelation 2:10b "… be faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life." Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in St. Paul Lutheran Church (515 Sprague Way SE) on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fred Rink officiating.
