Some people think we need to define poverty as an issue, back that up with research, talk about demographics.Ê Others who live in poverty think it's all about dollars and cents.ÊThey don't have enough dollars and it doesn't make any sense.Ê
Many people are falling through the cracks because once they were hard working folks, but then they get sick, can't pay for medical bills, get divorced or fall behind. Everyone has a different story.Ê
When you are in poverty you struggle day to day.Ê There is no long-term financing goals; just pay the rent and find enough food.ÊWe hope and pray the provincial governmentÊnotices and finally has a real poverty reduction strategy.Ê Not just stopgap measures that keep people in poverty but gives them a helping hand out of poverty.Ê
