The Federal government is now accepting applications from employers to receive funding through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
The program provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses to create summer job opportunities for youth aged 15 to 30 years who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year.
"Our government's top priority is job creation and economic growth," said Medicine Hat MP, LaVar Payne, in a press release on the program. "Through Canada Summer Jobs, we are helping Medicine Hat and area employers create much-needed summer job opportunities for students, while strengthening our community's economy."
Employers can now apply online at www.servicecanada.gc.ca/csj2012 or print an application from the website. Employers can also get an application by visiting any Service Canada Centre.
The deadline for applications is FebruaryÊ29,Ê2012.
"The Canada Summer Jobs Applicant Guide" is also available to assist employees with their application and is available online, by calling 1-800-935-5555 or visiting a Service Canada Centre.
