So what about global warming and climate change? What are the facts?
Absolutely there is observable change in the climate. Absolutely climate change is a fact.
Wow. From a conservative, God-fearin' right-leaning Christian.
Climate change exists, but what is the cause? You know the old "cause and effect" thing. Is climate change primarily caused by humans? Conservatives aren't supposed to be smart enough to understand what some scientists and university professors preach.
Well, fact is, not only are we smart enough, we understand full well what may be the scam of the century. Many of us have been involved in the issue a long time; many question the conclusions. Science is all about testing and questioning and not about politics. I recently heard, on no less authority than "CSI," that "science does not lie."
Global warming it's real. The issue of humans polluting is a fact. That pollution is bad, is a fact. That climate can be controlled by man, is not a fact.
Recent studies indicate that, global warming over the past four centuries, can be explained by, and is due to, increased solar activity. Global warming over the 20th century is "not significantly different" from warming episodes that occurred in earlier centuries. Yup, Christopher Columbus, Martin Luther and Elizabeth I experienced climate change.
One paper finds that the increase in solar activity over the past 400 years explains the warming, without any need to search for a unique cause of late 20th century warming, such as greenhouse gas concentrations.
But, assume for a moment that humans, not solar activity, have caused current global warming.
So what would we have to do to fix observed changes? If we interpret information from the United Nations, to reduce CO2 emissions enough is impossible. There is virtually no point from a climate change perspective, in doing anything in curbing our carbon emissions. They suggest that current CO2 output levels will cause a 7 F rise in the temperature in the next century. If you do the math, to forestall even a 1 F rise in the temperature would take 33 years of no automobiles, no trains, no electricity, no planes, no hospitals, no factory production or any basic current human activity to reduce the temperature by only 1 F.
Just because "man-made" global warming may be hoax, or cleverly designed wealth redistribution, do we with impunity pollute and care not? God forbid. Simply put, you live in a home. You do not keep garbage stacked to the ceiling or keep all manner of "pollution" in your home. You clean it. You get rid of garbage and want to make your home livable.
Why do anything different with our world. We, with responsibility, make reasonable and appropriate changes. We all want cleaner air, cleaner water and a better future.
On a similar note: Could someone explain how buying 'pollution credits' and continuing to pollute, have any affect on world climate?
